The Twilight Song

28 June 2009

So i was listening to some songs on my I-pod last night, and I had been re-reading the twilight series before i went to bed. I was listening to this one song, and it seemed to be a song meant for New Moon.

Someone Said Goodbye, by Enya. Here are the lyrics, see if you can relate to it!

Summer. When the day is over
there’s a heart a little colder;
someone said goodbye,----------------------------------------Edward
but you don’t know why.
Somewhere there is someone keeping
All the tears they have been weeping,----------------------------------------Bella
Someone said goodbye,
But you don’t know why.

Is there a reason
Why a broken heart begins to cry?----------------------------Bella
Is there a reason
You were lost although you don’t know why?--------------------Bella felt lost and empty without Edward
Give me a reason
Why you never want to say goodbye.----------------Bella wanted Edward forever
If there’s a reason,
I don’t know why.

Always looking for meaning,
All the time you keep believing,------------------------Bella some what beleived Edward would come back
But I don’t know why
You won’t say goodbye.

Even when the sun is shining
You don’t see the silver lining,-----------Bella was always glum and depressed
But I don’t know why
You won’t say goodbye.

Is there a reason
Why a broken dream can never fly?
Is there a reason
You believe and then you close your eyes?------even when Bella believed Edward would come back, she thought that he didn't like her and WOULDN'T come back
Give me a reason
Why you hide away so much inside.
If there’s a reason,
I don’t know why.

Is there a reason
Why a broken heart begins to cry?
Is there a reason
You were lost although you don’t know why?
Give me a reason
Why you never want to say goodbye.
If there’s a reason,
I don’t know why.
I don’t know why.
I don’t know why.
I don’t know why.

Don't judge a girl by her cover- ally carter

26 June 2009

When Cammie "The Chameleon" Morgan visits her roommate Macey in Boston, she thinks she's in for an exciting end to her summer break. After all, she's there to watch Macey's father accept the nomination for vice president of the United States. But when you go to the world's best school (for spies), "exciting" and "deadly" are never far apart. Cammie and Macey soon find themselves trapped in a kidnappers' plot, with only their espionage skills to save them.

As her junior year begins, Cammie can't shake the memory of what happened in Boston, and even the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women doesn't feel like the safe haven it once did. Shocking secrets and old flames seem to lurk around every one of the mansion's corners as Cammie and her friends struggle to answer the questions, Who is after Macey? And how can the Gallagher Girls keep her safe?

Soon Cammie is joining Bex and Liz as Macey's private security team on the campaign trail. The girls must use their spy training at every turn as the stakes are raised, and Cammie gets closer and closer to the shocking truth..

(from Amazon.com)

I especially like this one because Zach (the guy that seems to like Cammie, and the Blackthorne boy) gets more serious and almost "badder" but as he leaves he says to Cammie, in the most romantic way "Be careful". I LOVE ZACH!

Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy

After just breaking up with her boyfriend, Cammie Morgan just wants a peaceful semester, but at Gallagher Academy, nothing is peaceful. Cammie is just a trouble magnet. Then Gallagher Academy plays host to strange and mysterious guests, Blackthorne Academy. When Cam breaches security, she leaves the school name at risk. Suspecting the Blackthorne boys, Cammie, Bex, Liz and Macey crawl around the school, bugging rooms and trying to find out more about their suspicious guests. Zach, a Blackthorne boy, knows a whole lot about Cam, and seems to like her.

I know WHY?! well its pretty obvious, i mean he kisses her once, calls her "Gallagher Girl" (nicknames are signs of affection) in the the next book shows great and real concern for her safety. But something about his shows that he might be a bad guy...

Saving Francesca- Melina Marchetta

16 June 2009

Saving Francesca is one of my favorite books this summer. It's simple, easy to understand for younger people, and has a great plot.

Francesca Spinellia, an Italian student, attends St. Sebastian's which had just recently began to accept girls at it's all-boys school. By 'girl's school' they mean adding a not-so-furnished girls bathroom and a mere 30 girls, against 750 boys.
Family problems occur, added to Frankie's problems with a friend-less school. When Mia, Frankie's mom, gets sick. The family falls apart. It's a great, unforgettable, and MAYBE re-readable book.

One of my favorite parts in the book was the closeness of Frankie and her little brother Luca. They're almost like one person and get along well. It's kind of personal to me, but I don't have a nice caring "Luca"-like brother.
(The cover's are amazing, and I love both of them. The first one is more colorful, more "I want to read this" because it shows a more happy, beautiful Francesca. The second one is washout-y and is more..ordinary and simple. But the girl on the second cover has really really beautiful blue eyes.

Eon Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman

09 June 2009

Eon has been studying the ancient art of Dragon Magic for four years, hoping he’ll be able to apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune. But he also has a dark secret. He is actually Eona, a sixteen-year-old girl who has been living a dangerous lie for the chance to become a Dragoneye, the human link to an energy dragon’s power. It is forbidden for females to practice the Dragon Magic and, if discovered, Eon faces a terrible death. After a dazzling sword ceremony, Eon’s affinity with the twelve dragons catapults him into the treacherous world of the Imperial court where he makes a powerful enemy, Lord Ido. As tension builds and Eon’s desperate lie comes to light, readers won’t be able to stop turning the pages...

Lord Ido, a crazy roya
l, wants Eon's power, and will do anything to have it. I think its an amazing book, and can't wait to read Eona The Last Dragon Eye.
The story is based on the Chinese Animals, The Rat, the Horse, the Pig, the Snake, the Rooster, the Monkey, the Goat etc....... The Mirror Dragon, however, has been missing for 500 years, and when Eon gets chosen, it causes a big commotion. Its a wonderful story , and personally, kind of hard to follow. I skimmed through most of it, unable to bear the suspense.

Lord of the Rings and Eragon

08 June 2009

I finished re-reading Brisngr, third book in Christopher Paoloni's Inheritance Cycle. MY particular favorite was the creation of Eragons sword Brisngr. Nice blue sword, the best Rhunon's ever made. Starmetal, unscratable, and truly a Rider's sword.

My brother, however, doesn't like the Inheritance Cycle, mainly because of the fact that the story resembles The Lord of the Rings. Similiaries:
  • Eragon, the name, is similiar to Aragorn
  • There's a dark twisted magician/wizard
  • Urgals to the Urik-hai
  • The dwarves particular dis-like to elves (i guess that wouldn't be copying...)
  • All three races involved
  • Gandalf and Oromis
I guess some of them aren't THAT much of copying but I do see that some of it is the same-ish. If you want to add or disagree with some of the points, please tell me. It'll be interesting, and I like debating :)

By the way , here's a particulary funny cartoon i found while searching the web portraying Legolas of Lord of Rings as a conceited beauty-obsessed elf.
